Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC)

At Van Buren Community Mental Health, we are a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). A CCBHC combines integrated behavioral health with physical health care, provides increased access to high-quality support, promotes the use of evidence-based practices, and establishes a set of standards and consistency of programs and care.

VBCMH became a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic in October 2024, showing our strong commitment to offering comprehensive mental health and substance use services to everyone in our community.

What Is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic?

A CCBHC is a specially designated clinic that provides a broad range of mental health and substance use services to anyone—regardless of age, diagnosis, insurance status, or ability to pay. CCBHCs provide:

• Comprehensive, coordinated mental health and substance use services appropriate for individuals across the life span
• Increased access to high-quality community mental health and substance use care, including crisis care
• Integrated person- and family-centered services, driven by the needs and preferences of people receiving services and their families
• A range of evidence-based practices, services, and supports to meet the needs of their communities
• Services to anyone seeking help for a mental health or substance use condition, regardless of their diagnosis, place of residence, or ability to pay.

What Are the Benefits of a CCBHC?

CCBHCs make it easier for individuals to get the care they need, when they need it. Being a CCBHC means we serve everyone—regardless of age, insurance, or ability to pay—and provide a full range of mental health and substance use services, including crisis care.

At Van Buren Community Mental Health, we operate under a whole-person approach, connecting an individual's mental health, physical health, and community supports all together so they can focus on recovery and wellness.
