Digital Accessibility Statement

At Van Buren Community Mental Health (VBCMH), we’re deeply committed to accessibility, diversity, and inclusion. We are continually working to ensure that our website and digital resources are accessible to everyone, regardless of ability. Our goal is to make our site as usable and inclusive as possible, following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 AA standards developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

Adobe PDF Files

As an agency, we have paperwork and other documents in Adobe Acrobat® Portable Document Format (PDF). PDF format is used to preserve the content and layout of some of our hard copy publications. In order to improve the viewing of these files, please download the latest free version of Adobe Reader.

At VBCMH, we are striving to convert each of our PDF's documents into Accessible PDF's with attached Accessibility Reports. Although, we cannot always guarantee the accessibility conversion of old hard copy publications. Due to this, we are more than happy to accommodate your paperwork requests or needs in-person at our primary office located at 801 Hazen Street, Paw Paw, Michigan, 49079. We will assist you during our normal business hours of Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm, and Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm.

People using screen-reading devices generally are unable to read documents directly in PDF format, unless they have an accessibility plug-in installed on their system along with the Adobe Acrobat Reader. We do ask that you please utilize the plug-in that is available at no charge from Adobe. This Adobe online tool will convert PDF files to HTML on request. To get the plug-in and latest news about Adobe's accessibility tools and services, please visit the Access Adobe site.
